On 01-19-06, I received an email from the winner of the above auction and he sent me the following update on this car.  While the owner wanted to have the auction pictures taken off this page, I thought it might be nice to see the comparison.  Pictures of his "new" LTD will be posted shortly.

I bought this car from an older lady that bought it new. It has just over 52,000 original miles.  It had been sitting in her garage for the last 10 years, not once was it started or moved in that time. The brakes were froze up and all the brake fluid had leaked out of every wheel cylinders, but the car was like new inside and out. I replaced every brake part on the car, added gas and it started up, I couldn't believe it.
Since then I have replaced the stock 2 barrel carb and intake with a 4 barrel performer intake and  Holley 600, the water pump, starter, alternator, fuel pump, valve cover gaskets, all fluids, voltage regulator and battery. After a little engine detailing the car is a very clean; almost an all stock 66 LTD.  I also have a new set of Magnum 500 wheels and tires that will be going on when the car comes out of the garage in the spring. I have wanted a 65 or 66 for about 25 years. I was finally in the position where I could start looking for one when my 23 year old son realized they were nice cars, then he also wanted one. He was able to find the one he wanted before I did. Between the 2 cars we have enough to keep us busy for a long time. Even though I have wanted one for years and it is a joy to drive, the thing I'm really enjoying the most, is the time we spend together working on them. I will send some pictures so you can take the Ebay pictures down, the car looks 100% better all cleaned up.
